EU Stands in Solidarity with India on Anniversary of Brutal Pahalgam Terror Attack and Operation Sindoor
The European Union marks the first anniversary of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, expressing solidarity with India and condemning the brutal massacre of tourists by The Resistance Front. The commemoration highlights the subsequent success of Operation Sindoor, where Indian forces dismantled nine terror camps in PoK, reinforcing a global stance against unjustified acts of terrorism.
The atrocity, which occurred on April 22, 2025, remains one of the most brutal civilian-targeted incidents in recent history. Orchestrated by The Resistance Front—an offshoot of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba—the attackers identified tourists by their religion before opening fire. The massacre claimed the lives of 25 tourists and a local pony ride operator who was killed while heroically attempting to save them. The targeted nature of the violence drew international ire and prompted a decisive military response from New Delhi to dismantle the infrastructure of terror responsible for the bloodshed.
On the intervening night of May 6–7, 2025, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, a high-precision retaliatory strike aimed at the heart of terrorist networks. The well-coordinated operation saw the Indian Armed Forces strike nine terrorist camps located across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The mission resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists, including trainers, handlers, and associates primarily linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. By precisely targeting militant facilities, Operation Sindoor inflicted maximum damage on terrorist infrastructure while meticulously minimizing harm to the civilian population, signaling a profound shift in India’s strategic response to cross-border provincial instability.
